OUR STORY
Built on Experience.
Grown Through Trust.
Advanced Custom Renovations was founded in 2016 as a family-owned East Valley remodeling company with a simple belief: homeowners deserve a contractor who is honest about the work, clear about the cost, and committed to building it correctly.
James Underwood brings more than 20 years of construction and remodeling experience to ACR. Today, he works directly with homeowners during the sales and estimating process, helping them understand the scope of their project, what the work will require, and how their ideas can be built.
Once a project moves forward, ACR’s operations team takes the lead. From pre-site planning and scheduling to trade coordination, project communication, and the final walkthrough, each member of the team has a defined role in keeping the work moving and the homeowner informed.
That structure allows our team to make decisions, solve problems, and remain accountable throughout the project. ACR has grown through referrals, repeat customers, and a reputation for treating people and their homes with care. We are proud to serve the communities where we live, work, and raise our families.
We are not here to decide what your home should look like.
We are here to help you build it well.
THE ACR DIFFERENCE
A Better Way To Remodel
You Choose the Finishes
Your remodel should reflect your style, your needs, and your budget. You select and purchase the tile, fixtures, vanity, flooring, and other finishing materials you want. You are not limited to a contractor-selected package or charged a markup on those purchases.
We Build the Project
ACR manages the construction, scheduling, trade coordination, installation, and jobsite details required to bring the project together. You get the freedom to choose your materials with the support of an experienced general contractor managing the build.
You See the Cost
Our estimates are organized by the work your project requires, so you can understand where your investment is going. If the scope changes, we discuss the work and cost with you before moving forward.
HOW WE WORK
What Matters On Every ACR Project
Every ACR project is guided by the same priorities: respect for your home, clear communication, skilled craftsmanship, and accountability from the first conversation through the final walkthrough.
Respect for Your Home
Your home is not simply another jobsite. Our team works carefully, protects the surrounding areas, manages daily cleanup, and remains mindful of your family, pets, routines, and property.
Clear Communication
Remodeling involves many decisions and moving parts. We explain what to expect, answer questions honestly, and keep you informed when plans, conditions, or schedules change.
Skilled Craftsmanship
Beautiful finishes only perform well when the work behind them is done correctly. We pay close attention to preparation, waterproofing, installation, and the construction details that protect your investment.
Accountability
We stand behind the work we perform. From the original estimate through the final walkthrough, our team takes responsibility for managing the project and addressing concerns directly.

ONE TEAM. EVERY STEP.
The Team Behind Every ACR Project
Every part of your project is managed by someone who understands the work and is prepared to help.
A successful remodel takes more than a good estimate. It requires careful planning, clear communication, skilled installation, and people who are prepared to make decisions as the work moves forward.
ACR’s sales, operations, project management, and installers work together from the first conversation through the final walkthrough. Each person has a defined role, but everyone shares the same responsibility: keeping your project organized, communicating clearly, and building the work correctly.
Our operations team manages the day-to-day details, including scheduling, project preparation, homeowner communication, trade coordination, and changes that arise during construction. Our installers bring the plans to life with the skill, attention to detail, and respect your home deserves.
